What Is Jobber?

Jobber is a field service management software that helps small business owners automate their daily business activities, like scheduling, invoicing, and data entry, so they can efficiently run their businesses and improve service delivery.

The founders understood the demands of running a small home-based business, so they created a tool to help proprietors be successful and satisfy their customers' expectations.

Jobber was founded in 2011 by Sam Pillar and Forrest Zeisler with the idea of building stronger communities and transforming the way service is delivered. Since then, Jobber’s software has helped more than 200,000 service industry professionals successfully run their businesses. Over the years, Jobber has been used by people in over 60 countries to invoice more than $40 billion.Jobber Features: What Does It Offer?

We can broadly divide Jobber’s amazing features into three categories, based on their function, as they can either help you organize your operations, impress your customers, or grow your business. Let’s look at a few features from each category.

Jobber Features - What Does It Offer?

We can broadly divide Jobber’s amazing features into three categories based on their function. You can use Jobber to organize your operations, impress your customers, or grow your field service business. Let’s look at a few features from each category.

Organize Your Operations

One of the main reasons people use Jobber is to automate and organize their operations. Here are some services Jobber provides to help them achieve that.

Invoicing and follow-ups: If you’re looking to streamline your invoicing processes, Jobber has got you covered. Jobber’s invoicing feature automates your invoices by helping you transform all the details of a job you completed into customer-friendly invoices.

Not only does it generate professional templates and batch invoices, but it also helps you follow up on your clients and reminds them of payments when due. What’s also important is that you can customize these templates by adding your company branding, disclaimer, and contact information.

Client management (CRM): Jobber’s CRM feature helps you track all customer details and information to deliver personalized service. This integration eliminates the need for dedicated CRM software because it maintains your full client history (including past invoices, quotes, jobs, and billing history), sales process management, notes, and attachments at your fingertips.

The powerful search function allows you to look up clients, invoices, and jobs in just a few clicks. In addition, you can sort them by custom fields to make the whole process even easier.

Scheduling and dispatching: With Jobber, scheduling and dispatching have never been easier, thanks to this feature that helps you schedule and assign tasks with a few clicks. You can even personalize the task calendar and assign different colors to different employees or job statuses to better understand who’s doing what and how it’s progressing.

Expense tracking: With Jobber, there’s no need to waste time calculating the costs of your materials, jobs, or payments: This feature allows you to enter your business expenses and attach photos of receipts where necessary to track your overall expenses.

This keeps your financial records organized and helps you determine exactly how much you spend on each job. With over 20 built-in reports, you will have a full overview of how your business is doing.

Impress Your Customers

Impressing your customers has never been as important as it is today. Did you know that 59% of customers admit they have higher customer service expectations today than they did a year ago

This just further proves how crucial it is for a business to maintain a good relationship with customers and provide them with all the necessary tools. These are some of the features Jobber implements to keep customers satisfied:

Online booking: With Jobber’s booking feature, you can take online requests from clients and allow new clients to book your services from a Google search, as long as you link your Jobber account with the Local Services Ads.

The process is simplified, allowing peers to book appointments instantly. As soon as they do that, you will receive a new booking notification, and you can assign the booking to a specific team member.

Client hub: The client hub feature comes with self-serve options for customers, as they can request services, confirm details of appointments, approve quotes, and pay invoices. Once you’ve scheduled the work, your clients can see all the necessary information, such as the date, time, and address of their upcoming appointments.

Also, they can check this information for their past appointments, which can come in handy as they don’t have to browse through an endless pile of documents. Many Jobber reviews from business owners claim that the client hub is one of its best features.

Customer communication management: With this, your customers can stay informed and updated. The software sends out automated messages and reminders to your customers about the work progress.

Your team members can message clients through the app to let them know they’re on their way or running late. The standardized message includes your business phone number, making it easy for your clients to message you if needed.

Grow Your Business

In addition to helping businesses organize their operations and tasks while satisfying clients’ needs, Jobber can help them grow. Here’s how you can boost your business using Jobber.

Quoting and follow-ups: This Jobber software feature lets you create, send, and track customized quotes displaying the details of your services or products to your clients for approval. The software also sends automatic text or email follow-ups to customers who didn’t get back to you to ensure everything has been taken care of.

Credit card processing: Jobber makes it easy to receive payments from clients, both online and offline. If you purchase Jobber’s Card Reader, your customers can pay on the spot without you having to wait for the down payment to process. The reader costs $59.99 plus tax and shipping and is available only for US customers.

Task automation: Field service task automation is another feature we highly appreciate about Jobber. Through this feature, business owners can automatically move information from Jobber to about 1,500 different web apps, such as Google Suite, Facebook, WordPress, etc. This feature is included in the Jobber’s Grow plan, and users need to set up a Zapier account to use this integration.

Jobber Integrations

Now that we’ve gone through its key features, let’s also cover some popular apps Jobber integrates with.

Zapier

Zapier’s APIs enable you to automate data transfers between applications. In simple terms, this integration allows you to send information from the Jobber platform to over 1,500 different apps. This integration helps users build fast processes and eliminate any duplicate information along the way.

Mailchimp

Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform that allows you to run personalized marketing campaigns. Jobber integrates with Mailchimp, allowing you to sync your contacts, send newsletters or postcards, and email campaigns with one of the customizable templates at your disposal.

Mailchimp also provides over 100 templates to help you create branded emails and make your business stand out. And if none of the templates suit your needs, you can create your own.

Stripe

Stripe is a payments platform, and Jobber uses it to let you process card payments, both online and (if you’re in the US and purchase a card reader from Jobber) offline. Through Stripe, businesses can easily accept payments, send payouts, and manage their businesses online.

Thumbtack

By integrating with Thumbtack, Jobber offers users a way to make themselves more visible: Potential customers can find them through Thumbtack and book their appointments through this integration, too. Whenever a new appointment is booked, users will receive a new booking notification in Jobber with all the necessary information.

This integration is available on the Connect and Grow plans, and users need to have a Thumbtack account to use this feature.

Convert

This handy integration from NiceJob allows proprietors to connect with web-design experts and create a platform for themselves within two weeks. Think of Convert as your personal website coach that will help you improve your website, boost its traffic, and turn more traffic into leads.

Jobber Pricing Details

Ease of Use

One of the first things you’ll notice about Jobber is its ease of use. Both the desktop and the mobile app are extremely intuitive and user-friendly.

Instead of a large visual menu cluttering up the screen, the app features a big plus sign at the bottom of the page. When you click on it, the pop-up menu will open up. This menu includes all the key features this software offers, and you can access any part of the app with just one click.

Jobber Customer Service

Besides the extensive FAQs and help center on the Jobber website, there is also a live chat feature, phone lines (+1-888-424-5301, +1-888-721-1115), and a support email ([email protected]) for help.

While a few customers aired their dissatisfaction at the delayed email responses in some Jobber reviews, others praised the follow-up calls and timeliness from the Jobber team.

Is Jobber Really Worth It? The Bottom Line
